Farm to School Team: Winter Wonderful

Updated: Jan 13, 2022

Thoughts from Our December 2021 Farm to School Project Management Team Meeting

The Food Policy Council has various teams joining together regularly to work on our many projects. At those meetings, we sometimes use check-ins to get to know each other better and share our connections to food.

In celebration of the change of the seasons, we asked the attendees at our December meeting of the Farm to School Project Management Team,

What's your favorite thing about winter?

Here are some of the team's responses:

  • Making soup every Sunday. I take everything left in my fridge and cupboard and make some yummy, warming soups and stews to enjoy through the week.

  • Now that I'm officially a dog owner, I'm starting to enjoy winter walks. That wasn't something I had thought I would like, but I really do.

  • It's only for the next few weeks, but holiday decorations really make winter more cheerful.

  • I can't stand being cold, so I hate winter. My favorite thing about winter is planning for my summer vacation.

  • I love winter! And I love being able to put on more layers. You can choose your temperature and be all cozy. And when it's snowy, it's so peaceful, and everything's kind of muffled.
